Sonja Knips
This is my sketch from Gustave Klimt's portrait of Sonja Knips. I drew in front of the painting in the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere in Vienna but was at an odd angle in relation to and farther from the work then I would of liked to have been. This altered the proportions of the face which I admire so much. The docents kept coming over to look at my work and the other sketches in my pad. One, in particular, kept telling me he could get me in for free if I needed to come back another day. At one point he invited me outside for a smoke and a coke. I thought, why not, free drink? But when we got outside I realized he intended for me to share his soda with him. At that point I really couldn't refuse.
